You've got your scooters at the ready, now you just need to know where the best places are to go for a fun scooting adventure. Maybe you're looking for somewhere different to go in your city, or you're taking your scooters on holiday with you and want the low down on where to scoot when you get there. It can be a bit of a mission to find out - so we had this idea; let's create an interactive map and call on scooter riders NZ wide to share their favourites.

Wherever you are in New Zealand, if you've got a scooter you'll have a favourite place to scoot. We want to hear about it! So fill in the form below and we'll get your place added to the map :)

Our cool little capital was recently voted the world's most liveable city. Known for its fabulous art scene, foodie scene and active outdoor lifestyle. Although Wellington central is surrounded by hills there are some great places to scoot. Wellington's beautiful waterfront is one of the best spots from Queen's Warf to Oriental Parade and beyond. Go and watch the surfers as you scoot around Lyall Bay. Even roll down Cuba Street and pop in to Micro HQ and say hello.

Lyall Bay

Lyall Bay is a paradise outside of Wellington City and the perfect spot to take the kids to enjoy the sea, sand and of course a scoot. After a roll around the bay a visit to the famous Maranui café is always a good idea for a cheeky micro break and a well deserved brunch. A win win for parents and the little ones. If you do get out there- be sure to try the scones!

Seatoun

Just around the corner Wellington hides the sandy suburb of Seatoun rimmed with a flat waterfront and pier, making it the prime location for a kids scoot. The positioning of Seatoun means it’s sheltered from wind making it the perfect place for a mid-winter race around topped off with a classic kiwi fish and chip pit stop.

Based around two large harbours, Auckland gives you plenty of places to scoot by the water. Being the largest city in New Zealand that is constantly growing there are many great spots to go scooting including beautiful north shore or eastern beaches, in the west near native bush, or in the city itself. Scoot around Auckland's oldest and largest park in the city Auckland Domain surrounding the Pukekawa volcano.

Cornwall Park

Cornwall Park has the ultimate kid’s scooter loop right on Auckland’s door step. The loop twists and turns through New Zealand foliage and flora with many native birds to be spied along the way. There are 3 BBQs throughout the gardens perfect for a family picnic or alternatively check out the fabulous café if a coffee is needed to keep up with the kids.

Hagley Park

Unlike Wellington, Christchurch is a fairly flat city making using a scooter a breeze despite the shake. Scoot around the inner city and spot concealed art and take a look at the new buildings poping up. Get away from the hussel and bussel at the stunning Christchurch Botanic Gardens and Hagley Park.

Linley McNickle - Papamoa Pump Track, NZ

The Papamoa Pump track is awesome for scootering! Opposite 120 Parton Road, Papamoa it has a tarsealed track that is perfect for kids and adults alike. Practice your jumps on the bumps and ramps in the middle of the track, or go around the outside loop track, up and down over the bumps.

If you’re after something a little more challenging then the skate ramp is just a few meters away, or for the real little tots, a nice straight concrete path down the middle between them. There’s something for the whole family! And benches under the trees when you need to take a rest.

Our kids (1.5yrs and 4yrs) love it here, as do their older cousins and we do too!
